From late June to late August, we welcome outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers to the Great Bear Rainforest for a relaxing and immersive multi-day wilderness experience. Our activity portfolio includes a number of eco-aware soft adventure activities including scenic river drifts, assisted climbing adventures, interpretive walks & hikes, history, geography, and culture, as well as river fishing, heli-hiking and heli-sightseeing opportunities.
From September 1 to October 16, we welcome visitors from around the world to marvel at the majesty of grizzly bears fishing on the scenic Atnarko River, just a short walk away from the front steps to the lodge.
Tweedsmuir Park Lodge guests select from 1 of 2 package configurations: either Private or Small Group. To make trip planning easy, we have combined all of the necessary components into one seamless all-inclusive package.
Private packages = Flexibility + Exclusivity. Whether you're looking for adventure or prefer to explore at your leisure, our private packages offer guests the exclusivity of a private guide as well as the ability to tailor their itinerary based on their personal interests and physical fitness level. We recommend using our suggested itineraries and then making adjustments, as necessary, either before arrival or while at the lodge.
Small Group packages = Social + Value. Our small group packages offer the knowledge and expertise of experienced guides in a fun and social setting. The itinerary is set and groups feature no more than 6 participants per guide. Family and friend groups can be larger than 6 if they wish; however, we will not group more than 6 individuals from separate groups together.
All packages include return transfers to and from the Bella Coola airport or the BC Ferries terminal, lodging, all food and beverage, and two half-day or one full-day guided activity on each full day of the package. Optional add ons include heli-hiking, heli-sightseeing, fishing, and boat tours to explore the local fjords and natural hot springs.
Tweedsmuir Park Lodge is certified Climate Positive, has been recognized as one of “BC’s Best Luxury Lodges” by CNN Travel, and is a founding member of The Magnificent 7 – Luxury Wilderness Lodges of Canada. Due to the high frequency of wildlife activity on the property, we do not allow pets.
"My Favorite"
I have stayed at many lodges in British Columbia and Tweedsmuir is the best all around lodge. The accommodations are so comfy, and we loved the bathrooms and the fireplaces in the room. Also the property is incredible, with bears grazing on grass, a perfect wildlife watching platform, and a beautiful hot tub and steam room. The food is also world class, this place should be on everyone's Bucket List.
“Amazing magical stay”
This is an amazing place to stay not just because the food, accommodation and location are all first rate but because the whole team of staff go to every effort to make this stay special. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The service and food far exceeded our expectations. The guides on our river drifts were not only knowledgeable but friendly and enjoyable company and the valley itself made every moment on the river special. In addition big thanks to Ellie who took us on our hikes for helping to show us even more of the beauty in the surrounding countryside. We learnt so much about the wildlife, the trees, and the First Nations people. We have memories that will last a lifetime and of course the special encounters with the bears above all. We saw so many every day - including the two occasions when they came to graze in the meadow near the lodges! This really was a holiday to remember - wish we could go back next year!
"Tweedsmuir centre of The Great Bear Rainforest"
From the moment we arrived the warmth from the lodge, staff, guides, and ambience flooded over us. Food was excellent. And nothing was too much trouble, coffee, tea was hot and always available with cookies and snacks. Other travellers were happy and excited to share their adventures, we saw bears, eagles, birds in abundance. And the landscapes were magical, guides are knowledgeable and courteous. A great wild space.
